Photos are everywhere. Just keep yours eye open for them. In Italian this is called occhio vivo.
It is always the light
These very recent images shot in Brooklyn would be rather prosaic if they had been shot with reflective light at mid day or so. Shot with translucent light at the end of the day, they became dramatic and interesting. Understanding light is the price of admission.
Genova
Shot from a piazza overlooking the harbor. A narrow staircase street. Genoa is full of these type of streets because the city raises on the banks of several hills. It's a very beautiful city with fantastic food and amazing places to eat it.
Northern Virginia
This horse ranch is located in Northern Virginia and was photographed just about the right time of day. Of course horses are the most majestic of all domesticated animals.
Archival image
I always find images that make me repeat that trite expression: "how does time flies." I remember taking this shot with my Canon FT in June of 1969. Unbelievable.
