A winter day at the Garden

Image
As you all know by now that by garden I mean the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, one of my favorite places in New York. Even on a winter day one can find many pleasures.

Children

Image
Those of you who follow this blog realize that I love to photograph children. These wonderful children were all photographed at a Catholic Charities day care center. They are mostly Hispanic as the area is Corona, Queens.

Back to the backyard

On a cold and dreary day in late spring, a trip to the backyard can at least result in some images that I can post.

Sigma shows up the big guys

Image
According to our friends at DPREWIEW.COM, the new Sigma 50mm F 1.4 DG HSM, is the best 50mm prime autofocus lens on the market. This from an independent lens maker. Simply amazing. Congratulations Sigma. I always liked this company's lenses and would recommend them. Now I feel sort of vindicated. There were many snobs who would rather spend more so that they could have a brand name.

Clematis

Image
This clematis plant was in Old Lafayette, New Jersey. It was at it's peak and I became fascinated with it and I sort of zoomed in as it were.

Early summer

Image
After an endless winter and a spring that never materialized, it's beginning to look like summer in the North East. These photos were shot with the Olympus EPL-2.

Something for Memorial day

There's nothing like a Cadillac that says, made in USA. This old Caddy used to be parked down the block from my house many years ago. A very early digital image with the Olympus E-10.

Sunday at the park

A typical scene in Central Park on a Sunday afternoon. Nothing surprises New Yorkers.
