From the past

Image
Being in quarantine makes one wonder about many things and thoughts wander to places seen long ago. These two images were shot in Kyoto, Japan during the Gion  Festival. The camera was a Canon FT with the 50mm F 1.f Canon FL Lens. Naturally, the film was Kodak Tri-X Pan.

The face of the bride says it all

Image
Newlyweds just out of the church in Mazara del Vallo Sicily. The couple was waiting for the photographer to set up his gear so I took advantage of the decisive moment. Keep your eyes open. Occhio vivo always. The lovely car was also an example of  superb Italian design.

Florence, the Arno River at dusk

Capture interesting light and you make a good image; it cannot fail. After all photography is graphics using light. Of course, the Arno and Florence are truly spectacular even without interesting light.

Vintage street shot

Image
I used to do a lot of street photography when I was young. Then it became a business but I did continue to capture unique situations. Fifth avenue in the early seventies with the Leica and Kodachrome. Imaging was never better.

Multi cultural Queens

Image
Of New York's five boroughs, Queens is the most multi cultural. This digital image is from a few yeras ago in the Queens Botanical Garden. You get the picture.

Classic shot

Image
I love this image shot on Tri-X and a canon FT with a 50mm F 1.4 FL Canon lens. Close and personal. This image dates from the summer of 1972 and the place is Scopello, Sicily.

Enjoy your Sunday
