Great news for Mac users

From the Western Digital website:

WD Launches a 2TB Portable Hard Drive for all you Mac Lovers out there

My-Passport-Studio-2TB.jpgThe new My Passport Studio is the first 2TB portable hard drive made just for Mac users. It packs an incredible amount of storage capacity of course, but also includes Time Machine compatibility and a design that goes along with the look of Mac products.

You can connect the My Passport Studio hard drive via the USB 2.0 interface or through Firewire if you're looking for a little more speed.

"The My Passport Studio is a perfect companion for the MacBook Pro and for creative professionals on the go," says WD senior director Jody Bradshaw. "For those who create large content files such as photographers and videographers, they will now be able to carry it with them wherever they go, as well as create a backup copy of everything they produce without fear of running out of additional storage while on location."

We hate to spoil the fun, but it is more expensive than a comparable Windows device.

The My Passport Studio 2TB is available now at an MSRP of $299.

Genova [part 1] / Canon G-9

These images were shot recently in Genova with the G-9 also a very competent travel camera. the point and shoot nomenclature should not make you think that this is your average small camera. Except for tendency to get noisy at 400, it is a very good camera. As for the city itself, it is splendid. Located in the Liguria region, it is rich in natural beauty. The food is fantastic and the architecture is a mix of old and new.

Have a wonderful Tuesday / Buon martedi'

Canon Recognized As One Of The World's Most Admired Companies In 2012

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., March 30, 2012 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced that it has once again earned placement in Fortune Magazine's 2012 World's Most Admired Companies list. For 2012, Canon achieved the number-five position in the computer industry, while also earning the number-two position in the Asia/Pacific region, moving up two spots from last year.
"It is an honor to receive this prestigious recognition from a distinguished publication such as Fortune," said Bunji Yano, senior director and general manager, Corporate Communications, Canon U.S.A. "Canon U.S.A. has focused on creating a sustainable and reliable brand providing innovation and value proposition through a culture of constant collaboration with a variety of constituents, including employees, customers, partners and our communities. It is enormously gratifying to see our corporate culture being recognized once again by being ranked as one of Fortune's most admired companies."
Fortune magazine's Most Admired List is considered the definitive report card on corporate reputation, and this year surveyed a total of 698 companies from 32 countries. Criteria such as investment and social responsibility were reflective of the results, and companies that have consistently outperformed their peers were those that demonstrated a commitment to achieving success through people (creating the right conditions for employees to thrive), and placing a high value on leadership and talent (strong emphasis on growth and development opportunities).

Che bella pasta / Canon 5-D II

Shot by my daughter Jennifer with the  fanulous5-D II and the Canon 100 mm f 3.5 Macro. Buon appetito. Something that presages an Italian Easter meal. BTW, this was shot in Sicily with tomato sauce that I cooked from tomatoes that had been just picked.  The fresh pasta was locally made. Che delizia.
