Evening light

Image
Crepuscular light is ideal when searching for an interesting image. This is the Arno river in Firenze. Shot by my talented wife, Marcy, with her Canon G-9.

Have a delicious weekend

Always beautiful

Always beautiful but even more so on a rare cloudy day. Always in my thoughts and always missing it.

Autumnal splendor

I have not hing to add. Fall is a magical season.

DUMBO

Image
The Dumbo area under the Manhattan Bridge in Brooklyn has undergone  incredible gentrification as it can only happen in New York. These are photos that pre-date this drastic change.

The Japanese Garden

Image
As many already know, I love the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It's a  real  jewel. Among it's many splendors, the Japanese garden stands out as a true masterpiece of large scale architectural landscaping. Here are a few seasonal photos.

Back to the future?

FERRANIA IS BACK      Italian film and camera brand Ferrania  is coming back. Once a major player in  motion picture films for the Italian film industry, it fell on hard times. In the late sixties it was bought by 3M. but soon after it then faded away.  Now is has come to life thanks to successful a Kickstarter fundraising project that raised the necessary cash. A company called FILM Ferrania will use the money  to re-commission, re-tool and re-redesign existing machinery  to modern standards from  the closed  Ferrania plant so that it can begin to manufacture  film once more. At the outset  the production will be for 35mm and 120 roll formats for stills, and Super 8 and 16mm movie film. Go figure. Film may not be dead after all. But one must ask: where are the Super 8 cameras today?

Have a beautiful new week
