Archival shot from long ago.

Image
This 120 Tri-X shot dates from august, 1969 and was made in Granarolo, a hamlet atop Genoa, in Italy. It is accessible vis a cable railroad and from there one can see  spectacular vistas of Genoa and the Ligurian Sea. This was shot with my original 120 camera, a Yashikamat 124. I loved shooting medium format film.

It's not all glitter

New York is a great city but it does have many social problems. The most insoluble seems to be the homeless crisis. Much has bee done and much has been spent but today it appears that the results are minimal at best. April of 1976 June of 1986

What a wonderful place

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden as you have gathered from my many posts, is a trule wonderful place to visit in any season. It's a jewel; a great asset to the city.

One for Charlie

Image
Charlie, as many of you know, is my Louisiana Catahoula Leopard dog. He is absolutely loving, gentle and sweet. True to his breed, he loves water and puddles. I walk him several times a day but the morning walk in Juniper Park is the most important one and it's when we both have the must fun.

A tale of two towers

Image
Siena, Italy. Torre dei Mangia in Piazza del Campo This is what I may safely call the original tower. It is located in Siena,. Italy, on the Piazza del Campo famous for the Palio di Siena, a super fast horse race, it is called la Torre dei Mangia. It was built way before the one below that may safely be called the imitation. Provincetown, Mass, monument to the Pioneers,  This monument commemorates the Pilgrim's first landing in Provincetown (not Plymouth), where they conceived, wrote and committed to the Mayflower Compact - the foundational document for the democracy America enjoys today. The Monument is the tallest all-granite structure in the U.S. rising 353 feet above sea level, and at the top, visitors are provided the most spectacular view of Cape Cod. The resemblance is uncanny and actually out of place and totally incongruent with the surrounding architecture.

Have a nice week
