Because of the ash cloud, and the difficulties I'm having in returning to NY, with great reluctance, I must temporarily cease the picture of the day. This feature will be be introduced ASAP.

BELLA SICILIA
I'm really having a great time in Sicily, where the weather is superb, the fields are aflame with an incredible variety of wild flowers that are resplendent with infinite colors. The food is superlative. For example, today's lunch at the home of my dear friends Lilla and Tonino Mione, began with a variety of antipasti that included superb roasted peppers that were to die for. The "primo" or first course was a fresh "pasta con frutti di mare" or sea food past that was cooked "in bianco," without tomatoes but included fresh zucchini. The secondo was a freshly caught "pesce spada" or sword fish that was baked with seasoned breadcrumbs; real"ly divine' All washed down with a nice dry local white wine. Of course dessert and or immancabile espresso," or the must have espresso followed along with local oranges that were really phenomenal. You have not tried citruses until you taste Sicilian ones. Tonight we are having a dinner that has locally made sausages as it's main course. We may eat pasta again! What can I say. I must leave on Sunday but will return in August. I just cannot stay away.

There was something right about the skin tones of the D 1-X. Only the Fuji S2-Pro did better. The Nikkor 35-135 F 3.5-4.5 was used.
