First of all happy St. Joseph day to all. This was an early and rather smoggy April Saturday in Coney Island. The D700 had the 17-55G F2.8 DX lens.

Keeping with the green, this shot was made with the incomparable Panasonic LX3 this past June. Happy St.Patrick's Day to all.

This beautiful young lady played the role of the Madonna in a St. Joseph Table celebration. This is an old Sicilian tradition that is too complicated to explain well. As an Ex voto a person wishing for the intercession of St. Joseph, would promise to make the St. Joseph Table. A poor family would be invited and they were in fact the Holy Family and they would enjoy a very long and complex meal that would satiate them completely. It was also a big neighborhood and family event. This re-enactment took place in Queens and was sponsored by several Italian organizations. The 5DII has the 24-105 F4 L Canon lens.

Once again, this rain elicits dreams of spring, and oce again at the fabulous Brooklyn Botanic Garden. May 2008 with the Nikon D300 and the 60mm F2.8 Micro Nikkor.
