Have a beautiful weekend

I filatori

These "filatori" or string makers were exhibiting the art of making string before machinery. The image, an old archival one, was made in Siracusa, Sicily in an ancient cave used as a tourist attraction. I like the fluid composition. The camera was the canon FT with a Canon 28mm F 3.5 FL lens on Tri-X.

The new Coney Island

For a time, this famous beach and playground appeared doomed. After hurricane Sandy  the restoration to the beach and boardwalk led to a revitalization of the many rides and other trendy stores followed. Even Nathan's was refurbished. It is now a very nice place to go to

Supper

There's nothing better than a pasta dish for supper. It makes me feel totally sated. This is a basically simple dish of spaghetti with a condimento of pomodorini, toasted bread crumbs and zucchine. Very healthful and naturally, delicious. Buon appetito.

Trick or treat

This a  father and his daughter were the first trick or treaters this afternoon so I photographed them. Afterwards it became too hectic to take other photos. I like the expressions and the little girl is really cute. I'm glad that Halloween is over.

Happy Halloween

The seaport

The South Street Seaport is one on New York's greatest successes. It basically regenerated an entire area that was dominated by the Fulton Fish Market and surrounded by decrepit buildings. The fish market was moved to the Bronx and the area was renewed and rehabilitated. It is one of the best venues in New York. A vibrant area that is replete with restaurants, shops but the main  attraction are the tall ships that form the South Street Seaport Museum. A must place to visit.
