The wonder of trees

There is something majestic and almost surreal about trees. If one takes the time to study them one comes away with a sense wonder. To see these stationary and huge living things that appear to always be there and in the case of deciduous ones to see their various stages throughout the year is really marvelous. Take the time to appreciate them. .

The weird and uncanny power that a photographic image has in freezing a moment in time is fascinating. These three images are almost 50 years old. At the time they were made the subjects were doing the ordinary everyday things that people do. Yet one has to wonder where they are now. At time this is an unsettling thought, at least for me. The Panasinic LX 3 with a Summicron lens was, despite it's small sensor, a truly wonderful camera. I gave it to my daughter who still uses it. I then got the LX 7 with a longer zoom range and also wonderful but I gave it to my son. What can I say that's the way it goes. These backyard images were all shot with the LX 3.
