Montmartre

Image
Rain or shine, tourists flock to this hill in Paris for a variety of reasons. The first being to enjoy the great panorama and  then to see the church of Le Sacre Coeur. Naturally there's a great deal of  touristy activities. Here we see painters practicing their craft.

Pennsylvania Dutch farms

Image
Pennsylvania Dutch is almost a brand name these days. Yet, off the beaten tract one can still see some wonderful farms and authentic Amish people. A wonderful place to visit.

Lovely Strasburg, PA

Image
Although I'm in Paris at the present time, I miss the States and the  charming small towns. Srasburg, PA is an example of such a place. It's located in historic Lancaster County and it merits a visit.

Old trains

Image
The Pennsylvania RR Museum in Strasburg, PA, is a very interesting place to relive what was once the only fast way to travel long distances on this continent. In an era of fast and faster travel, trains, especially steam driven ones  provide nostalgic flights of fancy. Yet the power and glory of the old locomotives are very impressive. These  are cars and locomotives that  are to be refurbished and will  be added to the collection. A museum not to be missed.

Amish Country

Image
These shots are from a recent trip to Lancaster County Pennsylvania, home of the Amish. They tend lovely farms that are totally organic and use no modern farm equipment. The area is getting somewhat touristy and is replete with all the artificiality that unfortunately result  in these places. But off the beaten track authenticity may still be found.

Greetings from Paris

. It's cold and rainy but it's still Paris, but I do miss the glorious weather of Sicily.

Sensuous summer flowers

I love my Olympus E-PL2, it's soft focus filter can turn a prosaic image into a sensuous one worth posting.

I love this farm

Image
We always pass this lovely farm on our way to Honesdale. It's located on Route 191 and I have stopped to photograph it on many occasions. This was made on a misty day that added to it's charm.
