Photos for today May 1-2010 Nikon D70S
It's the merry month of May. It appears that spring is going so fast. These photos are from a trip to the Queens Botanical Garden with the D70S and the 60mm F2.8 Micro Nikkor. It was a beautiful day.

A few photos with the Nikon D70S for 4-28-10
What I'm I going crazy; I'm using a D70S which in these crazy digital days is equivalent of going retro. Why did I just get a D70S? The answer is simple. I needed a back up camera for my D700. When I got the D700, I sold my D2X's and was left with only one Nikon body. For work I've been using my Canon system. Yet I could not simply give up the Nikon system for work. With some new shoots coming up that are basically outdoor events, I needed the superiority of the Nikon flash system. It's fill flash TTL is unbeatable. So the backup. I saw the camera at Armato Pro Video and Photo, my favorite place to shop and it's also close to home. It was in mint condition and it came with the the 17-85 F3.5-4.5G lens; I had to have it. The price was also good. I had a D70 with that lens and loved the results, that is until my daughter, the superb photographer, was using it when her canoe overturned.
C'est la vie. I have had many or even too many cameras but this one excited me. I was ready to try it so when I drove to Pennsylvania to check out my house I took it along. This is really a nice lens. I had almost forgotten how good it is. The examples were all shot in raw but were only converted and no changes were made at all. I think that the IQ is great.

There was something right about the skin tones of the D 1-X. Only the Fuji S2-Pro did better. The Nikkor 35-135 F 3.5-4.5 was used.
