New York has diversity in spades. This is a normal scene at the Queens Botanical Garden. Queens, BTW, is by far the most diverse borough of New York City. The lens was the 24-45 F3.5-5.6.

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden has one of the most extensive planting of Japanese cherries outside of Japan. Every year the Japanese community in New York does a festival to celebrate this spectacular event. These shots were taken with the D1x and the 35-135 F 3.5-4.5 Nikkor.

The successor of the LX-3 is here, the LX-5

Image
The same superb sensor with more dynamic range and the same superb Leica Vario Summicron that now goes to 90mm equivalent. But the deal maker is the ability to add an EVF to the camera thus making easier to use in daylight. I cannot stand to use the LCD screen to compose images. This little gem should be here soon. Let's hope that the distribution is better than it was for it's predecessor.

That amazing LX-3

Yes indeed, that amazing LX-3 that was commandeered by my daughter but had the fortune to use and take to Italy last August. Here are some of my roses as they were beginning to fade. I hope you like them.
