Pefect for a relaxing Saturday

Saturdays are usually days of working in the backyard. Just go out and enjoy your flowers. Work can wait.
These images were made with a very nice and inexpensive Panasonic Lumix G  25mm F1.7 ASPH lens that I bought at Adorama the best place to shop in NewYork. Shipping was free and the item arrived the next day. Amazing. A very nice when you want to throw the backgroung out of focus.

Cute kids

Most of my assignments would result in professional but  on many occasions rather mediocre photos. Yet I always tried to grab shots that rose above mediocrity to what I belive to be serious stuff. I used to shoot lots of day care center activities for various clients and always enjoyed shooting children. That was my favorite type of assignment.

Red roses to brighten your day

My wife and I were visiting the Rose Garden at the Brooklyn Botanic when suddenly the sprinklers were turned on. It was a hot June afternoon and we actually enjoyed gettine wet. For a brief  moment we thought we were children again. The roses were photographed while still wet giving the results you see here. Wonderful.

Via degli Archi

I was returning home very late one summer night and as I was walking -left to right- I came upon this  sight. I  would always see Via degli Archi [Avenue of the Arches]  full of people but at this time it was totally empty but fascinating. I only took one shot because in those days I was still thinking film that naturally was costly. When I downloaded the image I realized that I had hit the proverbial jackpot. It is one of my favorite  shots of by Beloved Castellammare del Golfo.

Archival slide scan

As I age gracefully, I keep wondering sbout life's biggest mystery or the absolutely rapid passage of time. I remember this photo as if it had been taken yesterday although it was shot in June 1971. Go figure. Nevertheless, this is to me, at least, a wonderful image. It was shot on Kodachrome II with a Canon FT and a 50mm f 1.4 Canon FL lens. One can still see glimpses of that Kodachrome magic.

Remember that eating well is an absolute necessity. You must live to eat not eat to live. Buon appetito.
