The High Line

Image
The High Line is one of New York's success stories. An abandoned elevated rail road once used to bring in carcasses to the meat packing district on the lower west side, was converted into a superb venue in which people can enjoy themselves for free. Just wonderful.

Right image for the hot weather

Perhaps this image can help us to cool off on these very hot summer days.

Charleston, SC

Image
Charleston is one of the most enchanting cities in the country. Fortunately it avoided Gen. Grant's fury so it retains it's ante bellum qualities. These are vintage Kodachrome 25 scans. dating from the spring of 1074. Alas, Kodachrome II had just been replaced by the new 25, that as it turned out, was an inferior product, Too bad...all in the name of progress.

The South Street Seaport area

Image
This is how the area looked in the early seventies at the beginning of what became the South Street Seaport, a very successful enterprise. In those days the smell of the fish market where overwhelming and there were hardly any tourists, just some curious visitors and a few photographers. photographers.

A very peaceful place

Image
Assisi, located on a hilltop in Umbria, Italy, is renowned for the sense of peace it exudes. Some call this spirituality but this is a topic I shy away from. It is a beautiful old town with lovely vistas and absolutely fantastic food. To me this is the real spirituality especially when the accompanying wine is excellent.

Have a lovely Sunday
