Super wide shot / Nikon D-200

Image
This shot taken in Ravenna is an example of hoe difficult it is to work with a super wide angle lens. In this case I was using the Sigma 12-24 F 3.5-5.6. It is me fairly sharp and the converging lines are not too annoying; at least not to me.

One from Marcy. What a great shot / Canon G-9

Image
This great view of Castellammare was shot by my dear wife who is really a wonderful photographer. She surely took a photo that I hope I had taken myself. BTW, Sicily in the spring and winter, is full of flowers and great colors.

Quiet Venetian alley / E PL-2

Image
This alley a few turns away from the Grand Canal, shows how de populated the city really is. It is uncanny, really.

A view from my window / Canon G-12

Image
Once more, the G-12 comes through. If it weren't for its bad view finder it would be an ideal travel camera. I just do not like to compose looking at the LCD screen. This was the view out of my window while I was the guest of My Friend Prof. Amedeo Maiello, who teachesa at the Instituto Orientale Universitario in Naples. A dyed in the wool and unrepentant communist but and a superb griend and host. He lives in the small town of Rotondi in Campania, north east of Naples. A very sleepy town but full of wonderful people.

One from the feast a few years ago / Canon 30D

Image
The feast for the Madonna del Soccorso is the annual event that has continued uninterrupted for centuries. Here the Canon 24-85 F 3.504.5 was used.

Lu tammurinaru / E PL-2

The folkloristically dressed up drum player that announces the feast is taking a rest.

My Sicilian neighbor / E PL-2

This is signora Aluzzo my next door neighbor who insisted on having her picture taken. I naturally complied.
