Thom Hogan, a person whom I respect, posted a very interesting article on his site
http://www.bythom.com/ that for the endless time explores that can of worms about equipment making some one better. Of course equipment does not, by itself, make anyone a better photographer. Nevertheless the techies out there who buy cameras to take endless series of "test shots," are not really interested in advancing the art of photography since to them photography is not the photo but the camera. I totally agree but poor Thom is wasting his breath, I'm afraid.
