HAPPY EASTER Nikon D700

Happy Easter to all. This photo comes from an urban chicken farm. This is sort of a quixotic attempt at changing the way food is made. for all the efforts, the mere 10 chickens produce a puny 7 or so eggs a day. This will not put a dent on the commercial farms. It takes a huge city block of land, with a small coop and other de rigouer items such as solar panels, that do not work and water collectors etc. Not a very impressive enterprise but the eggs make a good Easter photo. I know, I'm cynical but why should I change. One has to be able so sift out all the BS that can engulf and choke you. The D700 had the superb 35-70 F2.8 Nikkor.

  1. first of all you don't even like chickens, so why would you care if they are raised inhumanely and because of the horrible conditions their eggs plain suck. if you liked eggs you would be able to appreciate a good fat farm egg produced by chickens who can do what chickens do. this does not include living is close quarters, having your beak cut off, and having burns in your eyes and on your skin from the overwhelming ammonia that makes even chicken keepers have to wear space suits or get burned. you love animals, even chicken should not be treated this way. we must look at the way we treat animals. and if it means we can't produce eggs on a huge scale the we shouldn't. the argument should never be, we need more eggs, so torture animals. maybe you would like eggs if you ate good delicious eggs from the farmer's market.
