Scopello
West of Castellammare, la tonnara di Scopello, pictured below - it's the building complex near the water- housed an important tuna fishing fleet. It is now a tourist attraction and the end of Ocean 11 was filmed here. The rocky coast is famous for it's faraglioni, sea boulders that rival those of Capri. Shot on a crisp January day, it shows that wonderful deep blue of the sea in this area. The towers were communication structures. These are all along the coast and acted as an early warning system for invasions and other troubles that all came from the sea.
