Leica has just announced the new APO-Summicron, M-50mm F 2 aspherical. The design is similar to the Summilux 60mm F 1.4. It just looks great. For those with deep  pockets the still unannounced price will not be an issue, for the rest of us, it's a dose of sticker shock. I guess I have to hold on to my original 59mm Summicron that it's 40 years old. Wow, was it that long ago that I got it. Frightening thought.

These photos were sent to me by my wife Marcy who captured them with the G-9 Not too shabby. Actually they are great. This large bird seems to appear in our neighborhood in Queens at this time every year. It's actually somewhat scary and a danger to small animals. The photo with the squirrel is very telling. Nice job, Marcy.
