The David
This vintage image dates from August of 1969. Taken in Florence at a time when the Davide could be
observed close and personal as the say goes. Alas, because of vandals, this masterpiece is so protected as to make it hard to appreciate. It must also be noted that the crowds today are humongous. Originally shot on Agfachrome 50, it turned magenta with age. I scanned it and converted it to black and white and the image became stronger than the color original. The camera was Canon FT with a 28mm F2.8 Canon FL lens. Where does time do? As the song says: I remember it well.
