It's almost scary. Are we photographers destined to become obsolete?
Sony has announced the Party-shot personal photographer. It's an automated photo-taking cradle. The device uses the DSC-WX1 and DSC-TX1's face- and smile detection functions to detect photo opportunities in social environments. You can place the Party-shot on a table or tripod. The device tilts and pans to locate and follow potential subjects. It will also recompose its shots on the rule-of-thirds. Don't smile if you don't want to be on candid camera. This is bound to make for some great reading on photo blogs. I may just be able to send my camera on assignments while I stay home and play with my dog!
