The parachute ride in Coney Island has a very colorful history. We will not deal with it here, however. What we can say is that it has become a symbol of Coney Island. It had it's moments of glory and decline. These shots show a sad period, that of the early seventies when it had deteriorated. Finally, in the early 200's it was refurbished to it's past glory but concerns for safety have precluded it;s functioning as a ride. It stands there as a symbol.
