Selinunte

Selinunte lies on the southern coast of Sicily. This once rich and powerful city was totally destroyed by the Carthaginians in 409 BC. The help from Syracuse arrived too late and only about 2500 people escaped to Agrakas, modern day Agrigento. The day the photos were taken back in August of 2003, was one of the hottest days that I remember and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The photos almost convey this feeling of heat. Some of the shots were made with a cheap Spiratone semi fish eye lens attached to a Fuji S-2 Pro.
