The neighborhood

It is hard to say if the traditional neighborhoods will survive. They are being taken over by hipsters who fancy themselves as living in a real  ethnic place while  adding their ridiculous restaurants that serve all sorts of invented dishes usually generically called fusion entrees. They also open large number of galleries because all hipsters fancy themselves as artists. This photo is from the eighties and the place is Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. It was a time when the place was real. In this butcher shop you  couls still buy stigghioli, capozzelle and sanguinaccio along with cosi di rintra and sasizza cunsata. No veal picard or other trendy cuts. What can I say.
